Wisdom eyes know Europe: France, creating a new experience of smart home

Carrie Liu, national manager of Tuya Smart France, pointed out in his speech that according to Statista data, the revenue of the European smart home market is expected to reach US$2.176 billion in 2021, and the market size will reach US$3.837 billion in 2025, with an average annual growth rate of 15.2%. In energy management, household penetration of smart devices will reach 17% in 2021. In the smart home market, the average contributed income per active household will reach about $425.

Carrie Liu pointed out that the French smart home market has grown by 288% in 2020, the cumulative number of activated devices ranks among the top four in Europe, and the number of newly activated devices in the last 30 days ranks third in Europe, after Germany and the United Kingdom. Similar to other EU countries, smart lighting and electronic devices account for the largest share of the country's smart home market.

Senya International SAS Managing Director Linda Jinli BELY shared her views on smart home development. In the development of the past few years, the concept of smart home has gradually focused on focusing on user experience, improving security, easy maintenance and remote control. A truly connected ecosystem is gradually becoming familiar with users' behaviors and life rhythms, so as to better adapt to users' living habits and meet everyone's needs. With the steady development of device connection technology and the wide application of smart phones and tablet computers, smart home devices will become more and more popular, and home appliances that can be connected to the Internet have penetrated into the homes of ordinary people.

Bruno Vulcano, chairman of the Zigbee Alliance, focused on analyzing the market size of Zigbee technology and BIoT (Building Internet of Things). Zigbee technology has the characteristics of low power consumption, security, frequency agility, and self-healing. Based on these characteristics, this communication technology is attractive to many smart home manufacturers. According to data he provided, Zigbee now accounts for more than one-third of the smart home wireless sensor network (WSN) chipset market. By 2023, 1 billion Zigbee chips will be shipped worldwide each year, and 4.5 billion IEEE 802.15.4 mesh devices will be sold, 85% of which will use the Zigbee Alliance standard.

Bruno Vulcano believes that the BIoT market is becoming more and more mature, and users are willing to spend more money to improve the comfort of their homes. Currently, some B2B companies in France are promoting BIoT-based native smart homes. Globally, the market size of BIoT is about 8 billion euros, of which the French market contributed 200 million euros, and some local companies have even achieved double-digit annual growth rates.

The new crown epidemic has made people aware of the convenience of smart home and intelligent products, which has brought explosive growth to smart home products. As the technology and market mature, the smart home ecosystem will soon settle in every home.

Application Advantages of Programmable Temperature Control Panels in Smart Homes
Application Advantages of Programmable Temperature Control Panels in Smart Homes
Programmable temperature control panels enable automated management through pre-set temperature curves, allowing users to adjust temperature parameters for different time periods based on their daily routines. For instance, they can maintain an ideal activity temperature during daytime on weekdays and automatically switch to a sleep mode at night. This dynamic adjustment eliminates the frequent manual operations required by traditional thermostats, making it particularly suitable for households with regular routines. The panels are typically equipped with intuitive touch interfaces for quick parameter modifications while retaining manual override functions for special needs. Their core advantage lies in transforming temperature management into programmable tasks, ensuring environmental comfort while significantly reducing user effort. The energy-saving feature of programmable temperature control panels stems from their on-demand heating or cooling logic. The system activates heating or cooling functions only during pre-set periods—for example, automatically entering a low-power state when the household is away to avoid energy waste. By continuously monitoring the difference between the ambient temperature and the set value, the panel precisely controls the startup and shutdown times of equipment, reducing unnecessary operation cycles. Some models also support integration with door and window sensors, pausing the temperature control system when ventilation is detected. This intelligent energy management ensures the system operates only when necessary, effectively lowering household energy costs over the long term. Programmable temperature control panels seamlessly integrate with smart home systems through standard communication protocols, serving as a core component of environmental control. Their open interfaces enable coordination with devices such as lighting and security systems—for example, automatically closing curtains for shade when indoor temperatures exceed a set threshold or coordinating with fresh air systems based on air quality data. Users can remotely view temperature curves, adjust parameters, and even set up geofencing features through a unified management platform to automatically switch to energy-saving mode when leaving home. This integrated approach eliminates the disjointed nature of managing multiple devices separately, making home environment management more systematic and convenient.
